    Yes, they don’t make any distinction between homosexual and heterosexual community. Any victim is served. Any woman is admitted to the shelter. 

  2. Does your program provide services to gay men? If so, what services?
    Yes, provides services, regardless of orientation or gender. The only exception is shelter. For all men, they don’t provide shelter, but have arrangements with several motels that can provide emergency shelter.

  3. Does your program provide services to straight men? If so, what services?
    Yes, provides services, regardless of orientation or gender. The only exception is shelter. For all men, they don’t provide shelter, but have arrangements with several motels that can provide emergency shelter.

  4. Does your program provide services to bisexual people? If so, what services?
    Yes, provides services, regardless of orientation or gender. The only exception is shelter. For all men, they don’t provide shelter, but have arrangements with several motels that can provide emergency shelter.

  5. Does your program provide services to transgender people? If so, what services?
    Yes. They haven’t had any service requests, but would be treated the same as any other victim of DV.

  6. Does your program have any literature available for staff or clients about LGBT domestic violence? If so, what is it?
    Yes. Some materials from NCCADV and some brochures from organizations which have conducted studies. Have flyers and brochures.

  7. Does your staff receive any specialized training about LGBT domestic violence or homophobia? If so, where do they get it, and who provides it?
    Very little. Some training during orientation, mostly about anti-discrimination. Have received some training sponsored by OASIS about LGBT issues.

  8. Do you have contacts and referrals with the LGBT communities?
    Yes, has a couple of personal contacts who are LGBT individuals-counselors. Refers to Asheville—has a list of specialized services available.
