With all people, they assess the safety risk for shelter.

  1. Does your program provide services to lesbians? If so, what services?
They don’t discriminate. Would shelter, but no specific targeted services or outreach.

  2. Does your program provide services to gay men? If so, what services?
Provide services, but not shelter. Tries to work out short-term alternate arrangements usually a motel or rooming house. Haven’t served anyone who has identified as gay.

  3. Does your program provide services to straight men? If so, what services?
Provide services, but not shelter. Tries to work out short-term alternate arrangements usually a motel or rooming house.

  4. Does your program provide services to bisexual people? If so, what services?
Bisexual women are eligible for all services. Bisexual men may be sheltered short term in a motel or rooming house.

  5. Does your program provide services to transgender people? If so, what services?
Hasn’t had it come up, and hasn’t thought about it. Doesn’t think it would be an issue—would base it on the survivor’s perceived gender, on a case by case basis. If person is in need of shelter due to DV and has no other resources, they would work with them.

  6. Does your program have any literature available for staff or clients about LGBT domestic violence? If so, what is it?
    No.

  7. Does your staff receive any specialized training about LGBT domestic violence or homophobia? If so, where do they get it, and who provides it?
They have diversity training, but nothing specific so far.

  8. Do you have contacts and referrals with the LGBT communities?
No. Not aware of many specific resources.
